Floral pants! (by Amy M)I went shopping with my mum today and came away with lots of great things! These sunglasses, the floral pants and the mint blouse are from Primark, which, as I’ve said before, is stocked with some really good pieces at the moment!I also picked up a great subtle animal print maxi skirt from Primark, some thick soled black plimsolls from New Look, an oversized cashmere cardigan and oversized mint shirt from Oxfam, and a bodycon skirt and black waterfall blouse from Topshop! All in all a very successful day shopping!
Now I just have to pack for my trip to Munich tomorrow! I’m going to be in the city for four days and at a festival for three so my packing has to be versatile and allow for all weather possibilities! A post with my final outfit choices will follow! :)I’ll be back in a week!<3 Amy xx

We’ve got nothing but time on our hands (by Amy M)
Hello!I’m finally back in the North and officially a graduand (such an odd word).
As it’s Father’s Day, we took papaD out for dinner and drinks at a local gastro pub, I had camembert to start which was deliiiicious and then sea bream with spinach and seasonal veg followed by some lemon sorbet, all washed down with a healthy quantity of Australian merlot! All in all the evening was was lovely and this is what I wore!
I asked my dad to take the pictures for me (not the best, but I can train him yet!) and it’s really nice to edit pictures taken in natural light as oppose to my grotty uni bedroom! My shirt is originally Topshop but I got it off eBay and my boots are Lita copies (my bad but I don’t have £120 for shoes waaahh).
I’m going shopping with my mum tomorrow to try and find some cool (and cheap) clothes to take to Munich and the music festival with me so I’m quite excited to have a good rummage and hopefully find some vintage gems tucked away in a corner somewhere! Wish me luck!Until next timeAmy <3 x x
Oh yeah I also dip-dyed my hair!! A detailed post will follow!

Romwe Dress

I got this Romwe dress a while back but due to exams didn’t have much time to do anything with it. Now with graduation coming up, I’m trying on all of my dresses to see what I can wear underneath my gown.

The dress is really pretty, the black peter pan collar adds a bit of edge to it and it can be worn alone, with a jacket, heels or flats to create the look you want.
As the dress is a ‘one size’ dress, it came up a little bit smaller than I would usually go for, which is why I paired it with this Topshop blazer. I would also wear it with my vintage leather jacket just for a tougher, edgier look. The material is really nice and light, but there is a lining too, which could get a bit hot in summer.

I paid around £20 for the dress, which is so cheap and I’d say it’s definitely good value for money as it’s quite a unique dress (I haven’t seen anything like it on the highstreet…yet) and looks great on.

Romwe is definitely now a bookmarked site on my laptop and they get new products in all the time (but also sell out very quickly) so it’s great to browse daily and find new pieces!

Check it out here: www.romwe.com

Have a great day!

Hello!
First of all I must apologise for the lack of posts recently. I’ve been rather swamped with packing, saying fond goodbyes and generally getting ready to leave uni for the last time!

I went to Coventry yesterday for lunch with some friends to a place called ‘Cosmo’ – if you’re in Coventry and haven’t been, go! It’s a huge buffet with food from Japan, China, India, Asia… yum! Needless to say, we stuffed our faces all afternoon!

After lunch we decided to have a little look in Primark and I came away with some great things. Primark seems to have found its niche in sticking to what its budget allows for – that means it’s steering clear of tailoring (for the most part) and focussing more on unstructured and oversized garments, with chiffon-style oversized blouses and pastel cotton blazers dominating the floor. Seeing as oversized blouses are what I wear almost every day, this is perfect for me and I could easily have spent £100 on them! Instead, I picked this Aztec print blouse which I adore. The print is really in right now but the style means it can also be dressed up or down; depending on what you pair it with. It’s a really versatile and stand-alone piece. For a night out I plan on putting it loose over a black body con dress with my Lita heels and for the day it’ll look great with leggings or black skinny jeans and converse or biker boots.

As well as that I picked up these gorgeous floral print shorts. Although floral isn’t something I would usually go for, these caught my eye instantly and when I tried them on I fell in love! They are such a loose and casual fit and so comfortable they can be dressed up with heels and a blouse for an evening out or a vest and sandals for daytime! Primark also have trousers and a blazer in this print which I plan on getting very soon!

My final purchase was this stripy blazer. As I become a working girl in less than three weeks now, office wear is something that’s been playing on my mind. My wardrobe for the past four years has been extremely studenty and I fear that rolled-out-of-bed-into-a-lecture look won’t wash in a business environment, so thought it was time to try and start making my wardrobe a little more office friendly. This soft blazer jacket caught my eye straight away. The stripes keep it cool and interesting while still allowing it to be quite formal and I will definitely be wearing it to work!

There are loads of blazers in Primark at the moment, with my favourite being the pastel range which I hope to pick up soon!

I also picked up some black and white nail polish from Boots’ Natural Collection range. I’ve currently got white nails with black tips and plan on switching it up soon!

I’m going home on Saturday and plan on getting mother bear to take some pictures of me in my new clothes, so keep an eye out! Until then I’ll just be packing my university life into boxes and saying a fond farewell to the bubble that is Warwick campus!

Until next time

Poolside Style

So it appears Summer has finally appeared and the time has come to grab a sunbed and relax by the pool, (the one pictured is my uncle’s in the South of France: yum).

This summer I’m all for the high waisted bikini. It’s skimpy enough to tan the legs that have been hidden away all winter, but not too revealing to feel as though your body is on show for the world to see. This one from ASOS has a great tropical print and the halter top is great for some added support when swimming!
For an easy but stylish cover-up on the poolside, this ASOS Crochet Beach Tee is a great option and paired with the Topshop straw Pork Pie hat would be a great look!

The studded bag from Nasty Gal is the perfect accessory for carrying your waterside essentials: RayBan round glasses, Piz Buin factor 30 (sunburn is NOT a good luck), a towel and a copy of your favourite magazine. The studs make it effortlessly stylish and it instantly toughens up any summer outfit.

For a more covered-up approach to the poolside/beach front, a pair of vintage Levi’s shorts with this great tribal tank from Nasty Gal and these cut out floral Dr Martens make for a great outfit that allows you to look cool and keep cool out in the sun, or if Dr Martens aren’t your thing, these leopard print mini Oxford flats are effortlessly chic and look great all year round!

Enjoy the sun!!

AMY’S STYLE: I have a very varied style! One day I’ll be in the mood for skinny jeans, a leather jacket and biker boots, and the next I’ll be in a skater dress with Chelsea boots. I do like to toughen looks up a bit as I’m not the girliest of girls, so if I am wearing a dress, I’ll try to add a bit of an edge in there somewhere.
INSPIRATION: The 70s, 80s and 90s. Streetstyle, vintage photographs. I take inspiration from everything! If I see something I like I try to imagine how I’ll put my own spin on it.
WHAT IS ONE THING YOU’D LIKE TO SEE CHANGE IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY? The fashion industry has been working on breaking down boundaries over the past couple of years and I’d like to see that continue. Fashion should be about individuality and not about conformity, and I’d like to see that mentality be more openly embraced. Websites such as Lookbook.nu are great as mediums to promote individual fashion and hopefully such mediums will go from strength to strength.
STYLE CRUSH: So many! At the moment I love Mika Francis, she’s a blogger (http://mikafrancis.blogspot.co.uk/) and is only young but has such an incredible taste and style!
SPRING AWAKENING: I’m not a huge trend follower, and in the UK at the moment it is IMPOSSIBLE to dress for Spring as today I’ve already witnessed thunder storms, torrential rain AND hailstones! So my main aim for spring is versatility! The weather is so crazy that what you put on in the morning when it’s cold and wet will also be adaptable when it hits lunchtime and the sun decides to come out! My main spring items are a pair of vintage shoe boots and a vintage driver jacket.
SUMMER LOVIN: This is going to be a crazy summer for me. I’m graduating university in July and also starting a new job as a Fashion Merchandiser with which I’ll be moving to Germany in August! I will be going to Munich to see some friends for a week when I finish my exams and I’ll also be going to Southside Festival in Bavaria which I’m really excited for! My main looks for this summer will be chilled-out festival vibes so lots of vintage Levi’s shorts, oversized shirts and vests, chunky-sole plimsolls, and RayBans.
